Birth

She awoke to excited whispers, but would take a few moments before she collected her courage to open her eyes. Instead, she listened. “That was amazing!” “Look how beautiful and innocent she is!” “She is perfect.” “There was some trouble there for a while. I didn’t know if she was going to make it.” “Yes. The process was long with this one. But she has strength in her.” “The most important thing is that she is here! I can’t wait to watch her grow.” Suddenly, the whispers grew quiet. An audible gasp was heard as she felt herself being lifted into strong arms. The arms engulfed her. Powerful, yet tender arms. She felt herself being lifted higher and then felt rough skin touching her face, and a soft gentle kiss on her cheek. The arms then laid her back down and she wailed. She wanted to stay in the safety of those arms! “Hush baby. It’s okay. I’m here. I’ll always be here.” She sighed contentedly, and then she opened her eyes. Confusion filled her mind when she noticed the carpet fibers pressed up against her cheek. Where were the people who were whispering? Where was she? She looked around, then sat up. A voice whispered, “How the angels rejoice when one such as you is saved.” The voice was the same one who comforted her and held her. She looked around, but she couldn’t see Him, but she felt Him. He was still there. She arose, refreshed. She was reborn.
